Niagara College Canada
Nicole has been a part-time professor with Niagara College Canada since September 2006, conducting lectures and labs for various divisions and programs including New Media Web Design, Journalism-Print, Pre-Media, Computer Programmer, and Computer Programmer Analyst. Courses and subjects include Media Literacy, Society in a Digital Age, Multimedia Project Lab, Designing for Interactive Interfaces, Rapid Web Development, E-Commerce, and Websites for Journalism/Print.
Capitalizing on her 15 years experience working at Corus Entertainment in Toronto, Nicole has continued her connection to the Canadian broadcast industry giant by supporting the Interactive department’s online contest initiatives. Contest micro-sites have included contests for movies, products, toys, games, and online coursework writing service for creative art students. The contest micro-sites run nation wide on Corus Entertainment properties including YTV Canada, Inc, W Network, and Cosmo.
Meridian Credit Union
Starting in January 2009, Nicole was contracted as a Multimedia Specialist with the task of planning, designing, building, and implementing an internal access Intranet for Meridian Credit Union. Along with training and documentation for staff on intranet use and best practices, Nicole assisted with planning and development of innovative ideas while helping to maintain an innovative internet culture. Nicole’s project, the Meridian Water Cooler, won the 2009 Central 1 Innovation Award.
